Smoking Cessation

Only you can decide when you are ready to quit smoking. When you are ready, we are here to help you. Creating a quit-smoking plan may improve your chances of stopping for good. Having a plan helps you set expectations, line up the support you need, prepare for cravings, identify and practice coping skills, and stay motivated.

​Our Smoking Cessation Providers will help you with:

  • ​STOP program which includes Nicotine Replacement Therapies such as patches, gum and nasal sprays.​​
  • Regular check in appointments to support and help you stick to your plan.

Erin Lindsay

Nurse Practitioner

Erin graduated from Lakehead University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN).

Erin's love of Northwestern Ontario kept her practicing in the area allowing her to experience nursing in several NWO communities including Thunder Bay, Atikokan, Red Lake, Balmertown, Ear Falls, several Northern Reserves and now most recently Dryden.

During Erin's career as an RN of 8 years instilled a diverse spectrum of knowledge through experience in Labour and Delivery, Emergency Care, Acute Care, Occupational Health and Safety and Primary Care.

In 2014, Erin decided to further her education and obtain her Nurse Practitioner Certificate, graduating 4 years ago, allowing greater access to services for the patients of the communities she serves.

Megan Kroeker

Nurse Practitioner

Megan is a Nurse Practitioner and certified diabetes educator. She graduated with a Masters of Nursing in 2016 from the University of Manitoba and with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) in 2008 from the University of Western Ontario.

Megan is also working towards certification as a functional medicine practitioner (a personalized medical approach addressing root cause of illnesses). She is passionate about helping patients solve health issues through natural, lifestyle based approaches.

Outside of work, Megan enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, traveling, learning about health and longevity, and running.

Susan Traini

Occupational Therapist

Susan graduated with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Western Ontario in 2011, and Under Grad with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Lakehead University in 2009.

Areas of expertise: Home safety assessments, seating mobility assessments, cognitive and safe-driver screening, fall risk screening/prevention, smoking cessation, chronic pain self-management, and stroke prevention services.

Susan has been employed with the Dryden Regional Health Centre since 2012 and in the Dryden Area Family Health Team since 2015.

Deha Reimer

Registered Dietitian, C.D.E.

Deha is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator. She graduated with a Bachelor of Human Ecology and Foods and Nutrition degree in 1994. Deha completed her General Dietetic Internship in 1995.

Deha has been employed with Dryden Regional Health Centre since 1995 and with the Dryden Diabetes Centre since 2003. She is also a member of the Dietitians of Canada.

Jennifer Millard

Registered Nurse, Certified Respiratory Educator and a Certified Tobacco Educator

She graduated from Queens University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNSc). She has worked on the Neurosciences floor of the London Health Sciences Centre, St., Thomas Elgin Mental Health Centre, as a travel nurse in the United States for 3 years. As well as in the ER Dept. at Thomas Elgin General Hospital, ICU, pediatrics and General Medicine Floor.

In 2012, Jennifer relocated to Dryden and began working in ER Department at Dryden Regional Health Centre and then later moved over the Dryden Area Family Health Team where she is now currently working as the Lung Health Nurse.

Keri Stemkoski

Patient Care Navigator

Keri was born in Dryden, Ontario and raised enjoying the vast lakes and the beautiful outdoors. She graduated from St. Lawrence College in Kingston, Ontario and is a Registered Social Services Worker.

Keri has a considerable amount experience as a front line counsellor and responder; she has spent most of her professional career, assisting local communities and those most vulnerable. "I strongly believe in working with integrity, always being mindful and having compassion for those who are in need of support and services". As the Patient Care Navigator, she is able to provide a patient centered approach. Focusing on enhancing and coordinating care for individuals while providing support and resources for patients who might otherwise fall through the cracks. Patient advocacy is coordinated to include family members, heath care provides, social services and other supports that may be required to ensure a full care team approach. Keri also provides support through the Dryden Area Family Health Team Cardiac Education program, the Dryden Regional Health Centre Cancer Support Team and Palliative Care Committee; providing linkages, referrals and case management.
