This program provides patients with a comprehensive medication review with our off-site pharmacist. The pharmacist also plays an important role in our other programs at the Dryden Area Family Health Team.
Pharmacists are the drug experts of the health care team. They provide medication assessments and act as a resource for the team, with the end goal of increasing patient safety. They are also responsible for the dispensing and procurement of medications and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy. Seija is the telepharmacist for the DRHC and Dryden Area Family Health Team, She accesses Physician's Orders for appropriateness and drug interactions, review patients lab work, review and approve chemotherapy, monitor drug therapy, participates in hospital committees, educate patients, and provides medication reconciliation.
Seija is a Registered Pharmacist, RPh. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy at the University of Toronto in 2010 and Under Grad at the University of Manitoba.
Seija is a generalist in hospital pharmacy. (which could include anything from heart failure to diabetes, COPD, infections, surgery, cancer, mental health, heart and stroke, etc). Seija has been employed with the DAFHT as a telepharmacist since 2016 and is registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
