Permanent Full Time, Nurse Practitioner

The nurse practitioner provides primary health care, including disease management and prevention, health promotion, health assessment and therapeutic interventions to Dryden area residents. The Nurse Practitioner is an integral part of the patient's circle of care with advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment plan. The Nurse Practitioner will engage in providing primary health care services to individuals across the lifespan.

Responsibilities:

  • Work within the Nurse Practitioner's scope of practice as set out by the College of Nurses of Ontario Nurse Practitioner Standards
  • Perform comprehensive health assessments within the scope of the Nurse Practitioner's role
  • Formulates and communicates medical diagnoses
  • Provides acute and episodic care
  • Liaise on and collaborate with families and community stakeholders
  • Consults with a physician in accordance with the standards for consultation with physicians, and/or refers the patient to another health care professional
  • Recommends and facilitates referrals to other services as well as communication and networking between the primary care practice and the hospital.
  • Maintains relationships with networks, related professional organizations, and other related service providers

Qualifications:

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse in the Extended Class (EC)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree
  • Completion of the Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Program
  • Sound clinical background and strong health assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary health care team
  • Current CPR
  • Demonstrates behaviours consistent with Dryden Regional Health Centre's Code of Conduct and Standards of Behaviour
  • Proven Attendance Record
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the job
  • Demonstrates DRHC Core Values; accountability, integrity, humility, compassion and respect
  • Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination

 

This is a unionized position. Compensation and benefits will be as per CBA; salary range of $125,658-$133,302.
